Three Little Owls Releaed

The three grounded baby little owls we admitted in early June have all been successfully hand reared and released.

Two arrived from the same location and very dirty, one of which had a couple of injuries, including trauma to the left eye, probably from falling from the nest. Its taken weeks of treatment including antibiotic eyes drops and anti-inflammatory pain relief to get on top of this injury. Although not perfect, the eye is open and functioning.

All three were hand reared, when self-feeding moved to an aviary then to thier release site to be soft released, thereby released but still providing food for them for a duration until they are fully settled into their new environment and feed naturally in the wild.
