Geese and Ganders
These two guys were taking in by us in 2010 and re-homed, unfortunately things didn’t work out and today their back with us. These two castrated pygmy goats are very friendly and need to be re-homed together. They need a field or large garden, with secure fencing and somewhere to sleep and escape from the sun, wind and rain.
It didn’t take us long before these two guys found a new home. They were originally rescued from a home where they were abused, now, thanks to Brinsley Animal Rescue they have found a life-long loving home. They have a large stable and their own paddock, boy they are lucky.
We rescued Gerard and Walter back in in 2008, today finally they were moved to their new home, where they will be loved and fussed over, for the rest of their natural life. Pigs, when castrated and kept in pairs or groups, in suitable conditions, make fantastic pets. Pigs are highly intelligent, very sociable, clean and surprisingly easy to look…
This chap came to us early in the new year, exhausted and very weak. A few weeks of rehabilitation and he was ready to go. Its times like this that makes the 6am 14 hours days seem worth while.
These two boys Billy 6 years and Smartie 15 years, were originally rescued from owners that had abused them, unfortunately after sometime, the new owner could no longer afford to care for them so they have been taken on by us.
When we rescued Bertie the so called Micro-Pig, the BBC came with us to highlight the growing problem of breeders miss selling micro-pigs. Breeders sell them as ‘not growing larger than a Cocker Spaniel’, the reality is that they grow large and when kept un-castrated and on their own, can become extremely destructive. Watch the programme on BBC 1, East Midlands Inside Out.
Today we have rescued our first hens of 2011. Battery hens live a miserable existences and after a short life, the are sent for slaughter to maintain high egg production, in the name of cheap food.
Since we formed over three years ago, each year we have steadily grown and rescued more animals eachyear. This year we have reached a peak, rescuing almost 800 animals, including pets, farm and wild animals.
