Bunny Release

You may remember we had four baby wild rabbits that came in a couple of months ago, well today all four were successfully released.

Hand rearing rabbits is very difficult and many don’t make it. Naturally their mothers only feed a few times a day, their milk is very rich. The rearing milk we buy is intended for dogs or cats, no one makes it for bunnies, so rearing them is a battle to keep them putting on weight.

Our star volunteer Rozie has done an amazing job here, all four have survived. Today they were released into the wild, they are strong enough to dig burrows, they are fully vaccinated and have been released into a wild garden where they will be watched over and where there are other bunnies.
