Announcement – We now Rescue Cats

On 9 June 2019, the Nottingham based Charity Animal Accident Rescue Unit (AARU) was dissolved. We have been working very closely with their Trustees to continue the amazing work the volunteers of AARU have achieved over the decades. AARU provided a volunteer animal ambulance service for rescuing sick, injured and abandoned animals, they also took in sick and injured cats, treating and rehoming them.

It was AARU that first introduced Beth and I (Jon) to animal rescue some 15 years ago and inspired us to set up Brinsley Animal Rescue ten years ago and so we were saddened to hear about the dissolution of AARU. However I am very pleased to announce that Brinsley Animal Rescue will soon be filling the huge gap left behind.

Although we rescue most kinds of animals, everything from pigeons to bulls, we rarely take in cats, this will now change. We will start by taking on AARU’s cats which are in foster homes and start rescuing sick and injured cats. We hope that many of the AARU volunteers will join us, to continue and build on the great work carried out by AARU, rescuing, treating and rehoming thousands of needy animals over the decades.

Once we have the cat rescue up and running smoothly, we intend to reinstate the animal ambulance service. so please look out for further updates.
