Injured Fox Cub

This female fox cub was admitted yesterday in a bit of a mess, very dehydrated and with a severely infected jaw. On admission we gave her fluids, pain relief and started antibiotics. Today she went straight to our vets for a better examination under aesthetic including x-rays. Our fears that the infection had got into the bone were confirmed, part of her jaw and teeth have now been removed.

She is eating which is very positive, the plan is to get on top of the infection, once healed she can return to the vets for reconstructive surgery. Only following the healing can she then join our other cubs for eventual release. We are hoping for a full recovery but at the moment this is by no means certain.
