Time to say goodbye to the ducks

Back in June you may have read about these little dears, they were abandoned and all on their own. Their mother went missing for several days and so we took them on.

Today it was time to say goodbye and it was such a joy to see them go! At first they paused, they were overwhelmed by it all, then one by one they headed for the banks of the lake at Shipley County Park and then in to the water. Within minutes they were splashing around having a lot of fun, eating and cleaning themselves.

Its times like this that make the long hard days with no social life, no free time all, worthwhile. Tonight we’ll sleep well in the knowledge that these guys are back where they belong, in the wild.
