We have released another swan, the second in two days, after treatment. We rescued this one after reports that she had collapsed.
On release we Searched for her partner, however he couldn’t be found, we left her near her nest and she was calling out for him. We hope they become reunited.
A few weeks ago we were brought a barn owl chick that had been found on the ground, he was still covered in down, in fact he resembled a pompom! He was far too young to be out of the nest, he wouldn’t have survived more than a few hours. Fortunately other than being separated…
Four of these ducks went to an amazing new home over the weekend, they now live with other ducks who photobombed this shot!! They also now live with some chickens! Three of the ducks were given up as pets a few months ago, we’ll miss the cheeky characters, they follow the volunteers around the sanctuary…
Finally its dry enough to shear the sheep.We rounded them up into a stable and once settled, they were checked over, sheared one by one and given their favorite treat, cashew nuts. Before being returned to the fields they’ll be vaccinated, wormed and hooves trimmed.Now they are ready for this lovely sunshine!
