Fox Cub

This little girl fox cub was found on her own, she is less than a week old.Thankfully the caller did everything right, they left well alone in case mum came back, as they often do, did not touch her and called for advise. We advised to give her a hot water bottle, wearing gloves so as not to leave any human scent. Some four hours later, is was obvious mum wan’t returning for whatever reason and so she was admitted to our animal hospital. The little girl is now doing well and putting on weight, having arrived at only 300g. Rearing fox cubs isn’t easy, the milk is alien to them and they fight it, it can be several days before they start feeding well. She’s being fed every 2 hours, extended to 3 during the night.
