Battery Hen Rescue
We travel far and near to rescue these poor girls, this time is was a long trek down south to rescue another 110 hens, at their end of their short productive lives, we rescued a few of the tens of thousands going for slaughter, many going for pet food.
Stoat Released Back into Wild
This young man was found clutching to a portacabin and probably separated from his mother when it was moved. We have hand reared him on special milk formula before introducing him to raw meat.
Rescued Animals
This category contains animals that we currently have in the sanctuary. These have been rescued by ourselves or members of the public. When they have recovered we release them when possible.
Three new goats arrive
These three guys have joined our ever growing population of goats.
Injured Mallard Drake
This drake was hit by a car and received injuries to his legs, beak, head and body. The main injuries are to the left leg and therefore he cannot stand.
Fox Cub
Today this little cub came to us, very frightened and very dehydrated. After eating puppy food and lapping up loads of rehydration fluid, the cub has made a great start to recovery.
Fox Cub – Update
Spring time is very busy for us with many baby animals and birds coming in. It is very time consuming and hard work not to mention sometimes heartbreaking to hand rear small animals.
Hen Rescue – 150 Ex-battery Hens Arrive!
Today we carried out our first hen rescue of 2009, these are ex-battery hens that would otherwise be sent for slaughter at 18 months old, all in the name of cheap food.
