Hen Rescue – 150 Ex-battery Hens Arrive!

Today we carried out our first hen rescue of 2009, these are ex-battery hens that would otherwise be sent for slaughter at 18 months old, all in the name of cheap food.

We have taken in 150, they are currently being assessed and treated before being rehomed later this week.

We always carryout home checks and offer free advice, so don’t worry if you have never had pet chickens before, we are here to help. They make very good pets and you can be happy knowing that you have given a hen a home much better from where they came.

We do have a waiting list for hens but should have some available from this batch, please get in touch if you can offer a couple of hens or more the chance to live a free and happy natural life.
