Three Goats Homed

This weekend we rehomed our three pygmy goats, two girls and a lucky boy. Rehoming from rescues creates space to rescue more, in fact we have two ready to collect next weekend.

When we rescued Bertie the so called Micro-Pig, the BBC came with us to highlight the growing problem of breeders miss selling micro-pigs. Breeders sell them as ‘not growing larger than a Cocker Spaniel’, the reality is that they grow large and when kept un-castrated and on their own, can become extremely destructive.   Beanie was a real gem.  Unfortunately he had to be seperated from his mum as he was too old.  Fortunately he has now found a friend called Winston.  They had a bit of a chunter when they were introduced but we hope that they will be fine together.  Winston appeared to be more interested in food…

Tawny Owl

A Tawny owl chick we took in a few weeks ago has been successfully reared and now released. Once feeding himself, he was moved to an aviary in preparation for final release. We open the door but continue to leave food our for him until he stopped returning and found his own feet.
