Another Swan Rescue

Another day, another swan. Fortunately after a kind donation a few years ago we were able to purchase an infusion pump which we have used to give fluids to cats, ducks, swans, piglets and foxes. It’s been an invaluable piece of kit for lots of animals and this swan is now hopefully going to feel a lot better by tomorrow. He’s had an X-ray and blood tests today and was originally handed into Vets4Pets Kirkby in Ashfield after crash landing in a built up area. The practise bought him to us for his rehab and further investigations.

We admitted this cygnet in the week, they were quite weak and found grounded in a housing estate. Its believed they’d crash-landed. Thankfully an examination hasn’t revelled any injuries and they are eating and drinking as well as hissing at us!! We are confident they’ll be released in the coming days.

    Owl Release

This Tawny Owl was brought to us from Shipley County Park, where he was found lying on the ground, cold, wet and at deaths door. After a few hours in an incubator, he was warm enough to be force fed and treated. Over the next few days he gained strength, within a week he was eating by himself….
