Swan Rescue
Another swan rescue today.
We get understandably frustrated by the number of calls we receive for waterfowl caught up in carelessly discarded fishing hooks and line, in most cases we cannot help as we simply don’t have the resources to help or the birds are inaccessible on or close to water.
Today we managed to contain this cygnet to remove a horrible barbed double hock from his foot and release. Imagine the pain from walking with this in your foot, let alone being dragged along by one in your mouth!!
A happy ending for this chap, the parents soon calmed down and you could see a marked improvement in the cygnet once he was released.
