Summer Open Day Success

On Sunday we held our annual summer open day and what a great success it was. We saw over 1,000 visitors come through the gates of the sanctuary, normally closed to the public. On the day we raised £4,000 vital funds needed to keep our voluntary charity running.

Although the doors officially opened at 11am, there was a steady queue forming by 10:30 and people were still around at 5pm, even though the bar had sold out by 3pm and Veggies the vegan caterers sold out not much later.

    Jackdaw Rescue

We admitted this beautiful Jackdaw some weeks ago, he arrived with a broken wing. Where possible, we try to repair, if repairable and when there is a realistic chance of the survival and being able to be released. The break was complicated, the only way to repair it was for an operation, fortunate for this…
