Can You Offer These Bunnies A ” Furever” Home? ** Now RE-HOMED :D**

Meet Holly and Willow!

Holly and Willow came to us in March, they have been looking for a home ever since but are often over looked by the other rabbits. They would really love a home to call for themselves and are getting sad at seeing all the other bunnies go to fantastic homes.

Given up due to financial problems, Willow ( left) was brought as a friend for Holly ( right) who was orignally found as a stray. They arrived together and therefore must stay together.

Willow ( or nicknamed Will at the centre)  is the larger otter coloured male. He is three years old, castrated and up to date with his vaccinations. He is the one who will greet you at the cage. More confident, Willow will watch you clean out his hutch and will go out his way to place things back to it’s orignal space. Like most men, he adores his food and often likes a good nose rub.

Holly is the smaller mini rex. She is two years old, spayed and up to date with her vaccinations. Holly is a lot more timid and will often hide from you. She is okay to be picked up and handled through, she throws no tantrums when it comes to having her claws trimmed. She is a big lover of toys – especially those willow matts. She loves to chew and is very good at making holes in the garden.

Holly and Willow are looking for a special home due to special needs. Being a rex rabbit, they are prone to sore hocks which means they cannot be housed on a concrete or mesh floor. Due to Holly’s antics for digging, we advise not to leave them unsupervised in a open floor pen. They are also incredibly messy and after many atempts at trying to litter train them – they just simply refuse or don’t understand how to keep their house tidy. This puts people off for keeping them as house rabbits. Even if one was to consider they would not be able to be kept on carpet.  What we do advise is a shed or large hutch ( double tier 5ft x 2ft x2ft) all wooden floored house, or if keeping indoors then an area with soft padding as flooring. Their nails must be trimmed regularly and their area should be kept clean. Ideally, a person with experience with this breed. Examples can been seen at the bottom of the page.

To help cover the costs of vaccinations, neutering and housing costs we ask for a minimal donation of £75 for both Holly and Willow. If you think you can offer them a forever home please contact us using the details below. We are not open to the public and are by appointment only. Please send us or bring us pictures of your set up. A home check may be carried out before final adoption.
