This week we have have done exceptionally well re-homing pigs, in fact we have successfully re-homed 6, which is twice as many as we have re-homed in the past two years! Although great news, we have had to turn as many away.
These two girls were re-homed today, originally the poor girls were dumped as piglets by a riverside, sadly some died before they were rescued. Now Peppa and Georgie have a wonderful life-long home with many other animals.
This little chap came to us a week ago, he was found on someones lawn possibly after falling out of his nest. We are now hand rearing him and he’s putting on weight and growing fast. He did spend much of his day sleeping or feeding, but now starting to get active.
Sammy one of our Dartmoor ponies has been homed this week, with a beautiful Shetland, he has settled in nicely and he’s already getting on well with his new girlfriend. We all miss Sammy, he was one our of naughty ponies, with loads of character, however we are pleased he has a new home.
You may remember that back in May we rescued 4 fox cubs. They had been found cuddling their dead mother. Had they not been found, they would have certainly perished. The great news it that these four siblings have been successfully hand reared by us and are now wild, living in the countryside enjoying life….
We have just taken on Joe the Ram, he is a young and friendly entire Ram. He is now sharing a field with 5 turkeys, 2 goats and 2 ponies. He greets us every day, patiently waiting for us. In the next few weeks we can get him castrated, he can then join our other…
The so-called “silly season” has arrived in anger, it’s that time of year when we receive a deluge of calls to help baby wildlife, as well as several baby birds in our care being hand reared, we have baby hedgehogs, ducklings and now this pair!
