Meet Dexter our retired Ram.
This old boy had “served his purpose” as a breeding Ram and was no longer required, he was due to be killed. Dexter initially went to another rescue before coming to us a few weeks ago.
He is very large and quite a boisterous old boy, but he does have his moments of wanting love and fuss. We have recently had him castrated so he can go in with the herd, this will also calm him down.
Dexter our special boy is now looking for a forever home.
This poor chap came to us with a broken leg, depending on where the break is, determines the treatment we administer. This chappie has a break quite high up and so he’s in sling to support his weight. He’s quite happy in this position, he can easily feed and drink. In a matter of a couple more…
At the sanctuary we receive calls at all times of day and night, not easy when we also work for a living, sometimes when we return home the voice mail is full and we have to prioritise the return calls. In the past few days we got contacted to take in some ponies whose owner had been prosecuted. The owner had over 60 ponies, some pregnant mares, stallions and foals. Its frantic here as always, especially at the weekend when we are off work. So Friday evening we rescued Matilda and 9 piglets, yesterday we had a number of wildlife admissions, collected 3 goats from wales and admitted some unwanted pet rabbits. These guys are came in this week with Jake. They are castrated males and currently live in our field with pygmy goats, sheep and ponies. They are very friendly and need to be rehomed together.
