This sweet little cat was found by a kind lady, who asked our Charity for help. A long-term stray, he had a terrible abscess on his face which, if left, would have burst and become infected. Around 5-6 years old, he has been through quite an ordeal but , following veterinary treatment and lots of TLC from his fosterer, his wound has healed extremely well. In fact, you would struggle to find any sign of it now!

Ready for a new home of his own, we wonder if you can help us make his New Year a happy one? Please don’t be put off by his shyness. His fosterer tells us he happily follows her around the house and seems quite at ease with her own 3 cats. Just a little amount of patience and we know from our experience of shy cats that they gradually gain in confidence and become affectionate and loving company. It just takes time…

His fosterer has the following news on him:Shadrack arrived with a large and rather nasty abscess on the side of his face {so his name is apt as, like his biblical namesake, he survived an ordeal.} His abscess has healed perfectly and he has now been given a clean bill of health from the Vets. He’s quite shy and tends to go off and hide when visitors arrive but this is a big improvement from staying under the bed! He follows me around everywhere and loves to sit on my knee! Once he is next to you, he will enjoy a fuss and a tummy rub and cuddles up close to you!He will need a fair amount of patience and time to become confident, but I am sure that he will get there in a loving home. He has met my cats and there have been no negative reactions from either party, so he could be well-suited to a home with other cats.

He is not fussy about his food at all, and will always clear his plate!Such a sweet boy, he really deserves a chance to show off his full potential as a loving companion.

All cats will be home-checked prior to adoption. Cats should initially be kept indoors for 6-8 weeks, so that they bond with their new owner and home. Sorry but we do not home on or near busy roads.

If you are interested in Sweet little Shadrack, please contact us by telephoning 0115 9205172 after 6.30pm (please leave a message if no reply and we will get back to you as soon as possible) or e-mailing admin@aaru.org.uk. Please include your postcode with your contact details.

This young adult is around 9 months old but must have been eating all his greens as is already a big lad! Tall, athletic and very, very handsome, he has all the charm of a kitten and the abilities of a young adult, he is interested in EVERYTHING! A caller asked for our help to foster Stan and we agreed, we don’t think he will be waiting long, do you?

Stan has been neutered, micro-chipped, has received worming and flea-treatment and is a very tidy little lad with his litter-tray!

In his new foster home, he is starting to mix with the owner’s 2 cats and that seems to be going ok.
